Description edpil02 2025-06-14 15:08:03 UTC
Can't use mock without root permissions even with group mock after Python3.14.0b2 update.

eddy@tuxlaptop:~$ groups
eddy wheel mock virt qemu

eddy@tuxlaptop:~$ mock

ERROR: [Errno 1] Operation not permitted

ERROR: The most common cause for this error is trying to run /usr/libexec/mock/mock as an unprivileged user.
ERROR: You should not run /usr/libexec/mock/mock directly.

Reproducible: Always

Sorry, I'll move to the later bug, because it has a little bit more context.
