A flaw was found in the Linux kernel. Improper initialization of internal pointers in the `genirq/irq_sim` module can lead to incorrect memory access. A local attacker with low privileges could exploit this, potentially causing a denial of service (DoS) by making the system crash.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2025-07-25 14:02:43 UTC
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

genirq/irq_sim: Initialize work context pointers properly

Initialize `ops` member's pointers properly by using kzalloc() instead of
kmalloc() when allocating the simulation work context. Otherwise the
pointers contain random content leading to invalid dereferencing.
