Whilst this certainly is not a valid CVE (it does not match the criteria established in the binutils' SECURITY.txt document), the fix is very simple.  It also turns out that the fix is the same as the fix for CVE-2025-8224 which has been filed as BZ 2383860.  Hence I am closing this ticket as a duplicate.
