Description Spike 2025-07-28 12:58:26 UTC
Please branch and build openvpn-auth-ldap in epel10

I'm happy to maintain the epel10 branch if required.

Comment 1 Robert Scheck 2025-09-07 10:08:47 UTC
Are you sure it makes really sense to branch epel10 for a package with dead upstream? https://github.com/threerings/openvpn-auth-ldap hasn't seen a single maintainer activity for the last 7+ years now.

Comment 2 Spike 2025-09-11 10:24:54 UTC
It still seems to be actively used, e.g. Debian 13 (trixie) - which sipped about a month ago - still includes it as well as Ubuntu 24.04.3. NixOS also still backports patches: https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/337962

I'd certainly use it. I get your point though and I might eventually have to look for an alternative.

Comment 3 Robert Scheck 2025-09-14 21:03:13 UTC
Are you a Fedora package maintainer and would you be interested in taking over the package?

Comment 4 Spike 2025-09-21 09:17:55 UTC
I am a Fedora package maintainer. However, I've taken your concerns into account and migrated all my use cases from openvpn-auth-ldap to openvpn-auth-pam, i.e. I no longer have any need for openpn-auth-ldap.

If somebody else still needs openvpn-auth-ldap I'm happy to help out.
