Description Fedora Release Engineering 2025-07-31 10:19:15 UTC
python-httpx failed to build from source in Fedora rawhide/f43

https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=135246264

For details on the mass rebuild see:

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_43_Mass_Rebuild
Please fix python-httpx at your earliest convenience and set the bug's status to
ASSIGNED when you start fixing it. If the bug remains in NEW state for 8 weeks,
python-httpx will be orphaned. Before branching of Fedora 44,
python-httpx will be retired, if it still fails to build.

Many tests hang indefinitely.

I opened an upstream discussion for this, a prerequisite to filing an actual issue. Perhaps they will have some insight.

Hello. This is a bulk comment.

This package still needs to be rebuilt and/or shipped with Python 3.14.0rc2+ bytecode in Fedora 43.

The Beta Freeze of Fedora 43 is scheduled to start today. Please prioritize this bugzilla accordingly.

Thanks.

I've been looking into this one, but haven't yet figured out a solution to get a working build with tests. If anyone can offer assistance on this one I'd be happy to take it.

Comment 7 Carl George 🤠 2025-09-16 15:50:41 UTC
Until upstream gets the tests working, I think it's best in the short term to skip a chunk of the tests to get a successful build and clear this FTBFS.
