Description Anakin Spud 2025-08-26 02:38:21 UTC
When a youtube video (for example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faFuaYA-daw) is attempted download, yt-dlp fails either with "Got error: HTTP Error 403: Forbidden if cookies are not supplied" and "The following content is not available on this app.. Watch on the latest version of YouTube." if cookies are supplied.

There are newer version of yt-dlp 2025.08.22 which supposedly have a fix for this bug merged in so an update of the package version might suffice.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download a youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faFuaYA-daw) using yt-dlp either with --cookies flag
Actual Results:
[youtube] Extracting URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faFuaYA-daw
[youtube] faFuaYA-daw: Downloading webpage
[youtube] faFuaYA-daw: Downloading tv client config
[youtube] faFuaYA-daw: Downloading tv player API JSON
ERROR: [youtube] faFuaYA-daw: The following content is not available on this app.. Watch on the latest version of YouTube.

Expected Results:
Video downloaded successfully
