vim packages were upgraded to version 9.1.1706-1 on Fedora 42

Afterwards, the man pages conveyed in the 'vim-common' frequently show errors such as the man page is "self referencing" and an "exit status 1" dump or with a "no manual entry" error

man vim
man: /usr/share/man/man1/vim.1.gz is self referencing
man: /usr/share/man/man5/virc.5.gz is self referencing
man: command exited with status 1: (cd /usr/share/man && /usr/libexec/man-db/zsoelim) | (cd /usr/share/man && /usr/libexec/man-db/manconv -f UTF-8:ISO-8859-1 -t UTF-8//IGNORE) | (cd /usr/share/man && preconv -e UTF-8) | (cd /usr/share/man && nroff -mandoc -rLL=204n -rLT=204n -Tutf8)

man vimx
man: /usr/share/man/man1/vimx.1.gz is self referencing
No manual entry for vimx


Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. upgrade to vim-common version 9.1.1706-1
2. run man commands against the man files in that package

Actual Results:
After vim-common is upgraded to 9.1.1706-1, man page commands generally fail for the man pages in that package with errors:
1. "No manual entry for <man pagename>" or
2. "man: <path to man page> is self referencing"

Expected Results:
Man pages should work after upgrading vim-common

Additional Information:
The problem was confirmed on three different systems
