Description Jonathan Kamens 2007-05-08 11:49:17 UTC
I get "*** Error (-1: 'Unspecified error') ***" at the end of trying to load
metadata from the camera. It looks like all the metadata is loaded successfully
despite the error. Here's what I see at the end of the command output:

Downloading 'IMG_0707.JPG' from folder '/store_00010001/DCIM/100CANON'...
Saving file as meta_IMG_0707.JPG
*** Error (-1: 'Unspecified error') ***

For debugging messages, please use the --debug option.
Debugging messages may help finding a solution to your problem.
If you intend to send any error or debug messages to the gphoto
developer mailing list <gphoto-devel.net>, please run
gphoto2 as follows:

    env LANG=C gphoto2 --debug --debug-logfile=my-logfile.txt --debug
--debug-logfile=my-logfile.txt --get-all-metadata "/store_00010001/DCIM/100CANON"

Please make sure there is sufficient quoting around the arguments.

I'll attach the log file.

gphoto2 log file

Comment 2 Jonathan Kamens 2007-05-08 11:57:45 UTC
The problem appears to go away if I remove the folder name from the command
line. I thought it was required (and perhaps it was in older gphoto2 versions),
but in any case even if it shouldn't be there, the error handling is poor.

new log file of gphoto2 failure

The problem is back with current gphoto2 and kernel in devel, even when I don't
specify the folder name on the command line. New log file attached.

Comment 4 Bug Zapper 2008-04-04 00:35:49 UTC
Based on the date this bug was created, it appears to have been reported
against rawhide during the development of a Fedora release that is no
longer maintained. In order to refocus our efforts as a project we are
flagging all of the open bugs for releases which are no longer
maintained. If this bug remains in NEEDINFO thirty (30) days from now,
we will automatically close it.

If you can reproduce this bug in a maintained Fedora version (7, 8, or
rawhide), please change this bug to the respective version and change
the status to ASSIGNED. (If you're unable to change the bug's version
or status, add a comment to the bug and someone will change it for you.)

Thanks for your help, and we apologize again that we haven't handled
these issues to this point.

The process we're following is outlined here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/F9CleanUp

We will be following the process here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping to ensure this
doesn't happen again.
