Description Reiner Wilhelms 2007-05-10 03:05:34 UTC
Description of problem:

System: Linux north.spielhausle 2.6.21-1.3116.fc7 #1 SMP Thu Apr 26 10:36:44 EDT
2007 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

I've observed this happen before: One is occasional crashing of firefox
on sites that have plenty of java and flash garbage (commercials) running, and
now during an attempted system update. I had firefox open and at the same time
the Software updater running. Don't know what to blame, but figured it may
be useful for someone to find and fix more errors. Here is the tail of
/var/log/messages when the crash occured:

hard link (/etc/resolv.conf) No such file or directory

I tried to reproduce this problem but it was not possible. The crashes are
completely intermittent and I don't see a pattern of how they occur.

What specifically crashes? Are you logged out, or does the entire machine crash?

Comment 2 Bug Zapper 2008-04-04 00:37:38 UTC
Based on the date this bug was created, it appears to have been reported
against rawhide during the development of a Fedora release that is no
longer maintained. In order to refocus our efforts as a project we are
flagging all of the open bugs for releases which are no longer
maintained. If this bug remains in NEEDINFO thirty (30) days from now,
we will automatically close it.

If you can reproduce this bug in a maintained Fedora version (7, 8, or
rawhide), please change this bug to the respective version and change
the status to ASSIGNED. (If you're unable to change the bug's version
or status, add a comment to the bug and someone will change it for you.)

Thanks for your help, and we apologize again that we haven't handled
these issues to this point.

The process we're following is outlined here:

We will be following the process here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping to ensure this
doesn't happen again.
