Description Tomáš Hnyk 2025-09-19 11:07:42 UTC
I am trying to build KDE from source using kde-build and I run into this error when it was trying to build appstream:

Found CMake: /usr/bin/cmake (3.31.6)
Run-time dependency libfyaml found: NO (tried pkgconfig and cmake)

meson.build:172:12: ERROR: Dependency "libfyaml" not found, tried pkgconfig and cmake

A full log can be found at /home/drew/Zdroje_a_programy/dev/kde/build/appstream/meson-logs/meson-log.txt

# exit code was: 256

I ran "dnf builddep appstream" before that, but it did not pull it.

I ma not sure if Fedora builts it differently, but it is my expectation (maybe wrong?) that builddep should pull in dependencies that are neede for an upstream build?
