To this day, I have never even seen this virtual keyboard work or even show up. I simply see an error through the error reporting tool usually when my laptop wakes from being idle.

I just installed Fedora/KDE and tried known features available in Kubuntu. The Welcome Center or pressing Meta+Tab seemed to cause the Issue.

@jgrulich Could you consider taking my PR https://github.com/maliit/keyboard/pull/263,  and turning it into a patch for the Fedora maliit‑keyboard package? My local build with this change has never crashed again.

@jgrulich It seems my PR was rejected because I didn’t hide the fact that I used Qwen to help fix the bug. I hope you can be open‑minded and not judge it based on the tool I used.

By the way, I tried switching to another virtual keyboard in KDE, but it keeps switching back to Maliit and continues crashing. Uninstalling it will drag SDDM and a huge list of KDE packages along with it. Since the maintainer rejected my PR, here is my COPR: https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/cwt/maliit-keyboard-robust/

 just found the crash report but didnt notice anything wrong. 3 days ago was a fresh install on this system with a fedora kde iso, I had literally nothing installed (this is an amd x86 laptop instalation, not a vm or anything). I did however had two keyboards set up on install for PT-br and EN-us
