I see complaints about missing buttons and not a regularly expected video card errors. Is the keyboard config or the automatic detection of it broken for the Lenovo Thinkpad? What device is missing buttons here? I tried with external mouse if that is the issue, but with no change. I fail to find any meaningful method how to force VESA or FB instead of Intel driver on that? If that is even a thing to fall back to anymore. (In reply to Ivo Sarak from comment #0) > Expected Results: > Gnome, GDM or whatever starting. I believe that is the expected result trying to run gnome on xorg https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/desktop@lists.fedoraproject.org/thread/VIPXWPTLJEMX7VEK4TMWUIK56IQBSQLT/ I will try that, but if it is dropped for "some better way" then is it something I can configure/set as well post upgrade or are all Fedora 42 to Fedora 43 upgrades just broken by design? The /etc/gdm/custon.conf file had already: #WaylandEnable=false After "frantisekz/GNOME-X11" adding to the software repo mix and installing these named items I see no changes with that issue as startx still is acting the same. As it turns out the startx & Co. are deprecated in the Fedora 43 then what is the proper way to address that GDM & GNOME unable to start? Also, are the VESA and FB drivers a thing anymore? As it turns out the startx & Co. are deprecated in the Fedora 43 then what is the proper way to address that GDM & GNOME unable to start? Also, are the VESA and FB drivers a thing anymore? The issue is about the GDM crashing: https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/gdm-crashes-after-upgrade-to-fedora-43-due-to-authselect-migration/171961 |
