Description Paul Raines 2025-12-05 16:48:23 UTC
Description of problem: vtk packages from 2023 on EPEL repo are incompatible with the new gdal-libs and proj packages added in RHEL 9.7

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
vtk-9.1.0-18.el9.x86_64

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try to upgrade a RHEL 9.6 system to 9.7 with vtk installed from EPEL
2.
3.

Actual results:
Unable to upgrade as there are RPM dependency conflicts installing gdal-libs-3.10.3-3.el9 and proj-9.6.0-2.el9.x86_64 from RHEL 9.7 and the vtk in EPEL9

Expected results:
RHEL9.6 can upgrade to RHEL9.7 with vtk installed
