A flaw was found in the Linux kernel Bluetooth L2CAP subsystem. This use-after-free vulnerability, caused by a race condition during channel disconnect handling, allows an adjacent attacker within Bluetooth range to trigger a kernel crash without authentication. While reliable arbitrary code execution is difficult, it remains a potential, though less likely, outcome.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2025-12-08 07:03:53 UTC
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

cifs: fix potential use-after-free bugs in TCP_Server_Info::hostname

TCP_Server_Info::hostname may be updated once or many times during
reconnect, so protect its access outside reconnect path as well and
then prevent any potential use-after-free bugs.
