A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) subsystem. A local attacker with low privileges could exploit a vulnerability where the `release_resource()` function fails to free the resource list entry after coalescing. This resource leak could lead to a system crash, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS).

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2025-12-08 07:08:25 UTC
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

PCI: Free released resource after coalescing

release_resource() doesn't actually free the resource or resource list
entry so free the resource list entry to avoid a leak.
