simplified patch derived from upstream
Hi Martin, Me again - do we have a reproducer/test case for this issue, so I can verify what the patch fixes? I'm not aware of a reproducer. There appears to be no corresponding test code either. Issue escalated to RHEL 4 Base OS by: mpoole.
