Description: Rewrite object files with modifications.

This is a nice little command-line tool with patchelf-like functionality, associated with the gimli project. There’s also a Rust crate library, https://docs.rs/crate/object-rewrite/0.1.1, which I’m exposing since it appears intended for external use, although nothing on crates.io uses it just yet.

Comment 1 Fabio Valentini 2026-02-05 15:21:39 UTC
Package was generated with rust2rpm, simplifying the review.

✅❌❓🫤

✅ package contains only permissible content
✅ package builds and installs without errors on rawhide
✅ test suite is run and all unit tests pass
✅ latest version of the crate is packaged
✅ license matches upstream specification and is acceptable for Fedora
✅ licenses of statically linked dependencies are correctly taken into account
🫤 license files are included with %license in %files
(included manually from upstream until included in published crates)
✅ package complies with Rust Packaging Guidelines

Package APPROVED.

Recommended post-import rust-sig tasks:

- set up package on release-monitoring.org:
  project: $crate
  homepage: https://crates.io/crates/$crate
  backend: crates.io
  version scheme: semantic
version filter (*NOT* pre-release filter): alpha;beta;rc;pre
  distro: Fedora
  Package: rust-$crate

- set bugzilla assignee overrides to @rust-sig (optional)

===

I recommend that you wait with importing this package until after the F44 branching is finished.

Comment 2 Ben Beasley 2026-02-05 18:37:37 UTC
Thank you for the review! I will request the repo and build the package after F44 branching.
