Patch to premit "." in macro define and value
This is a regression wrt version 4 behaviour. This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for inclusion in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux maintenance release. Product Management has requested further review of this request by Red Hat Engineering, for potential inclusion in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Update release for currently deployed products. This request is not yet committed for inclusion in an Update release. This bugzilla has Keywords: Regression. Since no regressions are allowed between releases, it is also being proposed as a blocker for this release. Please resolve ASAP. A correction for this issue is present in revision autofs-5.0.1-0.rc2.50. An advisory has been issued which should help the problem described in this bug report. Description of problem: autofs does not allow macro defines in the master map don't allow the macro name or it's value to contain a ".". How reproducible: Always. Steps to Reproduce: 1 . Add the following to the master map: /test /etc/auto.define -DDIR.DOT=test.dot 2. Add the following to /etc/auto.define: def :/usr/local/tmp/${DIR.DOT} 3. Create the directory /usr/local/tmp/test.dot 4. Attempt to automount /test/def with: ls /test/def Actual results: the ls returns: ls: /test/def: No such file or directory Expected results: ls returns after successful mount.
