Description Eric Eisenhart 2007-06-11 21:59:33 UTC
Description of problem:
ruby's yaml module defaults to mangling data that's multi-line and has a line over 80 chars long,
dropping every 80th character (and replacing it with a newline).

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
ruby-libs-1.8.1-7.EL4.8
ruby-1.8.1-7.EL4.8

How reproducible:
ruby -ryaml -e 'puts ("#\n"<<"A"*(YAML::DEFAULTS[:BestWidth]-1)<<"B"<<"A").to_yaml()'

Actual results:
--- >-2
#

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
AAAAAA
A

Expected results:
--- |-
#
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
AAAAAABA

or:
--- >-2
#

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
AAAAAA
BA
