Description Niklas Mohrin 2026-02-14 18:09:58 UTC
As previously discussed in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2401372, tealdeer versions before 1.8 are broken as the URL to update the page cache is outdated. This has been fixed in version 1.8+.

As this is a problem across many Linux distributions, I (upstream maintainer of tealdeer) released patch versions 1.5.1, 1.6.2, and 1.7.3 that fix this problem without any further changes. In particular, the dependencies and minimum required Rust compiler version are the same as the previous respective minor release.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install tealdeer
2. Run `tldr --update`
Actual Results:
Error during update (panic / 404)

Expected Results:
The update succeeds (exit code 0)

We know (sadly not straightforward to address) and the current maintainer(s) are also AWOL.

Ugh, can't read today, sorry. I think updating to 1.7.3 should be doable, I'll look into that later today.
