Description Adrian Vovk 2026-02-16 19:56:59 UTC
When setting up a dual-boot, the installer summary page before you confirm the installation says that it'll format the ESP, even when it will not format the ESP

This is of course quite confusing. I was trying to install Fedora for someone and avoided continuing with the installation because it seemed that the installer was going to break their Windows install by wiping the ESP

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Ubuntu or Windows or whatever into a VM
2. Boot the Fedora installer
3. Set it up for a dual boot (w/o custom mount points)
4. Continue to the confirmation page
Actual Results:
The installer says that it'll format the partition mounted to /boot/efi, or in other words it'll format the ESP

Expected Results:
The installer accurately says that it will not format the ESP
