Description of problem:

The existing gdal3.4 packages in epel9 cannot satisfy dependencies for gdal or its sub-packages like gdal-devel. Other packages that really need the full functionality of gdal3.4 are therefore requiring the installation of the less-functional packages from appstream.

Additional info:

The article https://developers.redhat.com/articles/2026/02/27/gdal-34-package-full-featured-gis-functionality-rhel mentions being able to compile against gdal3.4. I'm guessing this requires gdal3.4-devel to be installed instead of gdal-devel? But I cannot swap gdal3.4-devel for gdal-devel because of other packages that require gdal-devel.
