Description Eugene Mah 2026-03-20 13:06:55 UTC
Description of problem:
Alert appears when starting cockpit in the browser.
SELinux is preventing cockpit-wsinsta from 'getattr' accesses on the filesystem /.

***** Plugin catchall (100. confidence) suggests **************************

If you believe that cockpit-wsinsta should be allowed getattr access on the filesystem by default.
Then you should report this as a bug.
You can generate a local policy module to allow this access.
Do
allow this access for now by executing:
# ausearch -c 'cockpit-wsinsta' --raw | audit2allow -M my-cockpitwsinsta
# semodule -X 300 -i my-cockpitwsinsta.pp

Thanks for the bug report, I can reproduce this quite trivially.

This was resolved in https://github.com/cockpit-project/cockpit/commits/e204cd130cba38db9be959c7f251472e68db3a0a and build https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2026-960b86040a but we forgot to link it to this issue.
