A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's macb network driver. The driver improperly handles the unregistration of fixed rate clocks, causing a resource leak. This issue can lead to resource exhaustion, potentially allowing a local attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by making the system unresponsive or unstable.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-05-01 15:03:16 UTC
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

net: macb: properly unregister fixed rate clocks

The additional resources allocated with clk_register_fixed_rate() need
to be released with clk_unregister_fixed_rate(), otherwise they are lost.
