A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Berkeley Packet Filter (BPF) subsystem. A logic error in the `regsafe()` function, specifically when handling pointers to packets, could lead to an incorrect state where valid packet ranges are not properly explored. This vulnerability may allow an attacker to bypass certain security checks or cause unexpected system behavior.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-05-01 15:03:42 UTC
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

bpf: Fix regsafe() for pointers to packet

In case rold->reg->range == BEYOND_PKT_END && rcur->reg->range == N
regsafe() may return true which may lead to current state with
valid packet range not being explored. Fix the bug.
