Description:
Minizip manipulates files from a .zip archive

Comment 1 Nicolas Chauvet (kwizart) 2007-07-02 21:03:48 UTC
Hi
I think that since minizip is included in the contrib directory of zlib, you
should request the zlib maintainer to enable minizip...
Mostly because he may enable it sooner of later if possible...

This seems to be stated here:
http://www.winimage.com/zLibDll/minizip.html

Comment 2 Rick L Vinyard Jr 2007-07-09 16:36:22 UTC
I've changed the component of this bug since I've discussed inclusion with the
maintainer of zlib, and minizip will be incorporated into the zlib package.

I'm not sure what else needs to be done to transfer the bug over to zlib.

cc'd the zlib maintainer...

What is the current status about the minizip buildin into zlib ?

Comment 4 Tomas Mraz 2007-08-14 12:27:45 UTC
Is it worth it including also the minizip and miniunzip binaries to the
potential zlib subpackage? We have zip already. The libminizip is of course
useful thing.

Comment 5 Ivana Varekova 2007-08-15 12:28:44 UTC
minizip is build now (it is in version -1.2.3-14.fc8).

Comment 6 Nicolas Chauvet (kwizart) 2007-11-09 11:50:56 UTC
Ivana do we can expext minizip support as an update for F-7 or only for F-8?
For now the submitter or dependant package (Rick) has left dependant reviews...

Comment 7 Ivana Varekova 2007-11-12 11:58:45 UTC
It is possible to put minizip into fc-7 too, but I don't know whether it has a
sense to put it there. So please do you want to have it in fc-7 and if yes, why
do you want it.

Comment 8 Rick L Vinyard Jr 2007-11-12 18:48:10 UTC
My motivation in getting minizip as a library was for VTP (http://vterrain.org).
VTP is a set of libraries and viewers for 3D terrain visualization. In order to
get VTP into Fedora I needed minizip, libMini, libquikgrid and libsquish.

I have submitted libMini and libquikgrid for review, and will add libsquish
later this week.

If minizip is available in F-7 I'll make the rest available for F-7 as well,
including all the VTP apps and libraries. Otherwise we'll just have to make VTP
and support libraries F-8 only.

Something that might be more interesting though is the status of minizip in RHEL 4.
