Comment 1 Peter Gordon 2007-07-12 08:17:24 UTC
Do we really need to?

coreutils is part of the guaranteed minimal build-root (see
Packaging/FullExceptionList on the wiki); and it's also guaranteed to be
installed on all installations of Fedora proper since it's noted as "mandatory"
in the comps files.

Thanks.

Comment 2 Florian La Roche 2007-07-12 08:27:06 UTC
If you install a new machine and have this rpm included, there is no way
for the install tools to know if coreutils needs to be installed prior to
this rpm, so this dependency needs to be added.

regards,

Florian La Roche

I don't disagree with this logic, but I'd like to see this resolved in the
context of the icon cache packaging guidelines[1] before making the change to
this package and others.
