If you would, please chkconfig cpuspeed off, reboot, and then manually try a
'modprobe acpi-cpufreq'. I'm reasonably sure that's what's triggering the
segfault, in which case this is probably a kernel bug. If that doesn't segfault,
then please try 'sh -x /etc/init.d/cpuspeed start > cpuspeed.log 2>&1' and post
the resulting cpuspeed.log file, or at least the last few lines before the segfault.

Ryan as you've not replied to this bug to provide the requested information in
over 2 months now so I'm closing this bug INSUFFIENT_DATA, if you still see this
problem please reopen it and provide the information requested by Jarod Wilson.
