A flaw was found in the Linux kernel, specifically within the `pseries/papr-hvpipe` component. This vulnerability is a race condition that can occur when an interrupt fires on the same central processing unit (CPU) while the `ioctl` or `release` handlers are executing. This can lead to a deadlock, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS) for the affected system.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-06-08 17:04:17 UTC
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

pseries/papr-hvpipe: Fix race with interrupt handler

While executing ->ioctl handler or ->release handler, if an interrupt
fires on the same cpu, then we can enter into a deadlock.

This patch fixes both these handlers to take spin_lock_irq{save|restore}
versions of the lock to prevent this deadlock.
