Description Steve Bonneville 2007-07-23 03:29:27 UTC
Description of problem:

Non-root user has gnome-applet-vm running. Selects a DomU from the drop-down
menu, then the "Configuration" item from the pop-up menu. Gives correct root
password, but when virt-manager comes up all configuration items and buttons are
still greyed out except menus and tabs.

Same non-root user then selects "Run Virtual Machine Manager..." from the applet
drop-down menu. Connects to the local Xen host, highlights the same DomU in the
GUI, and clicks on the "Details" button. Configuration items are NOT greyed
out. No additional passwords were entered.

UI should be consistent, presumably the "Configuration" menu should actually
work for non-root holding a root cookie.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
gnome-applet-vm-0.1.2-1.el5
virt-manager-0.2.6-7.0.2.el5

Comment 1 Cole Robinson 2012-02-06 22:25:35 UTC
gnome-applet-vm is deprecated upstream, and is highly unlikely to be updated again in RHEL5. Closing this bug as WONTFIX
