A flaw was found in the Linux kernel, specifically within the `rtl8723bs` Wi-Fi driver's `rtw_mlme` component. This vulnerability is due to a missing bounds check before subtracting fixed offsets from the `ie_length` variable, which can lead to an unsigned integer underflow. This issue could potentially impact system stability or integrity.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-06-25 10:01:59 UTC
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

staging: rtl8723bs: rtw_mlme: add bounds checks before ie_length subtraction

Add guards to ensure ie_length is large enough before subtracting
fixed IE offsets to prevent unsigned integer underflow.
