Description of problem:
Since upgrading less from 704-1 to 704-2 perldoc doesn't work anymore.

less-704-2.fc44.x86_64

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Upgrade less from 704-1 to 704-2
2. Use any perldoc command, e.g. "perldoc perlrun", "perldoc IO", "perldoc -f open"
3.

Actual results:
 "read error  (press RETURN)" is shown.

Expected results:
Actual pod contents are shown.

Additional info:
Downgrading to 704-1 fixes the problem (except for the case in Bug 2468485).

Setting LESSOPEN='|/usr/bin/lesspipe.sh %s' also fixes the problem (including Bug 2468485). The default from /etc/profile.d/less.sh is '||/usr/bin/lesspipe.sh %s' (note the double pipe, which is not documented in the less manpage except if it's followed by a dash, i.e. "||-").
