A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's `mtd_virt_concat` module. This use-after-free vulnerability occurs when the `mtd_concat_destroy()` function frees memory before it is no longer referenced by `mtd_virt_concat_put_mtd_devices()`. An attacker could potentially exploit this flaw to cause memory corruption, which may lead to a denial of service or other impacts on system stability.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-08-10 12:28:15 UTC
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

mtd: virt_concat: fix use-after-free in mtd_virt_concat_destroy_joins()

mtd_concat_destroy() frees item->concat so calling
mtd_virt_concat_put_mtd_devices(item->concat) leads to a use after free.

Fix this by moving mtd_virt_concat_put_mtd_devices() before
mtd_concat_destroy()
