OpenTelemetry-Go is the Go implementation of OpenTelemetry. Versions 1.41.0 and 1.43.0 removed raw-length rejection and it causes `Parse` to process arbitrarily large/invalid baggage headers and log errors, enabling DoS via oversized inputs. Versions 1.42.0 and 1.44.0 fix the issue.
buildah-1.45.0-2.fc45 bundles go.opentelemetry.io/otel v1.44.0, which contains the fix for CVE-2026-41178.
CVE-2026-41178 affects OpenTelemetry-Go versions:
- v1.41.0 through v1.42.0 (fixed in v1.42.0)
- v1.43.0 through v1.44.0 (fixed in v1.44.0)
The shipped Fedora package already has the patched version. Closing as NOTABUG.
Verified with:
$ rpm -q --provides buildah | grep opentelemetry
bundled(golang(go.opentelemetry.io/otel)) = 1.44.0
