More detailed description of the problem can be found in Opera's advisory: http://www.opera.com/support/search/view/864/ Opera browser was affected by similar problem (with CVE name CVE-2007-3142). Unlike Opera, Konqueror does not truncate hostname after certain predefined number of characters. Part of the hostname, which fits into the space for text label, is printed, possibly / likely truncating string in the middle of the character. Length of hostname prefix, which is displayed to user, probably depends on user's font settings. Statement: Red Hat Product Security has rated this issue as having Low security impact. This issue is not currently planned to be addressed in future updates. For additional information, refer to the Issue Severity Classification: https://access.redhat.com/security/updates/classification/. |
