A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's `mailbox: mchp-ipc-sbi` component. This vulnerability arises from a missing null check for a memory allocation function. If the memory allocation fails, it can lead to an error condition, potentially causing a denial of service (DoS) where the system becomes unstable or unresponsive.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-09-04 15:44:56 UTC
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

mailbox: mchp-ipc-sbi: Add null check for devm_kasprintf()

Add a check to see if devm_kasprintf() is not NULL in
mchp_ipc_get_cluster_aggr_irq(), returning -ENOMEM if the function
failed.
