A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's NTB (Non-Transparent Bridge) module. This vulnerability arises from the incorrect handling of Direct Memory Access (DMA) addresses during memory deallocation. The DMA API requires that the `dma_free_attrs` function receives the exact `dma_handle` originally provided by the allocation function. Modifying this handle before deallocation can lead to memory corruption, potentially causing system instability or a denial of service.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-09-04 17:17:59 UTC
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

ntb: Store original DMA address for future release

The DMA API requires that dma_free_attrs receive the exact dma_handle
originally returned by the allocation function. Do not modify it.
