Description Fabio Valentini 2026-09-05 13:25:32 UTC
envision is one of a few packages that still depend on gtk-rs v0.20, which is now two versions behind the latest upstream version, which is no longer supported upstream and will not be maintained indefinitely in Fedora.

It looks like envision upstream has already bumped its dependencies after the 3.2.0 release. Can those changes be backported and / or upstream be asked to tag a new release? The last release happened almost a year ago.

Dependencies that pull in gtk-rs v0.20 packages (no guarantee for completeness):

- rust-delicious-adwaita -> rust-gtk4_0.9 -> rust-glib0.20
- rust-gtk4_0.9 -> rust-glib0.20
- rust-libadwaita0.7 -> rust-gtk4_0.9 -> rust-glib0.20
- rust-relm4 -> rust-gtk4_0.9 -> rust-glib0.20

I had this work partially started. Will give it another go to get it done. On the Fedora side, let's go to the latest. I'll deal with any envision breakage.

Upstream is not interested in doing a tagged release for some reason, so I need to switch to commit based (already done, just not committed.)
