*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 2529296 *** |
Description of problem: SELinux is preventing /usr/lib/systemd/systemd-userwork from 'read' accesses on the sock_file /proc/self/fd/8. ***** Plugin catchall (100. confidence) suggests ************************** If you believe that systemd-userwork should be allowed read access on the 8 sock_file by default. Then You should report this as a bug. If you are certain this access is legitimate and not an intrusion attempt, you can generate a local policy module to allow it. Custom policy modules are not supported as they may weaken the system policy and expose the system to security vulnerabilities. Do # ausearch -c 'systemd-userwor' --raw | audit2allow -M my-systemduserwor # semodule -X 300 -i my-systemduserwor.pp Additional Information: Source Context system_u:system_r:systemd_userdbd_t:s0 Target Context system_u:object_r:xdm_var_run_t:s0 Target Objects /proc/self/fd/8 [ sock_file ] Source systemd-userwor Source Path /usr/lib/systemd/systemd-userwork Port <Unknown> Host (removed) Source RPM Packages systemd-262~rc1-6.fc46.x86_64 Target RPM Packages SELinux Policy RPM selinux-policy-targeted-45.15-2.fc46.noarch Local Policy RPM selinux-policy-targeted-45.15-2.fc46.noarch Selinux Enabled True Policy Type targeted Enforcing Mode Permissive Host Name (removed) Platform Linux (removed) 7.3.0-rc2-893e11787f78-with- fixes-v1+ #178 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Wed Sep 9 23:04:14 +05 2026 x86_64 Alert Count 22 First Seen 2026-09-09 10:18:42 +05 Last Seen 2026-09-10 00:49:59 +05 Local ID 24a6958e-0b22-4e36-840f-938e4446d0a7 Raw Audit Messages type=AVC msg=audit(1788983399.531:352): avc: denied { read } for pid=11908 comm="systemd-userwor" name="org.gnome.DisplayManager" dev="tmpfs" ino=4075 scontext=system_u:system_r:systemd_userdbd_t:s0 tcontext=system_u:object_r:xdm_var_run_t:s0 tclass=sock_file permissive=1 type=SYSCALL msg=audit(1788983399.531:352): arch=x86_64 syscall=getxattr success=no exit=ENODATA a0=7ffe9b441d00 a1=7feb3029e5ea a2=558ce675b390 a3=67 items=1 ppid=907 pid=11908 auid=4294967295 uid=0 gid=0 euid=0 suid=0 fsuid=0 egid=0 sgid=0 fsgid=0 tty=(none) ses=4294967295 comm=systemd-userwor exe=/usr/lib/systemd/systemd-userwork subj=system_u:system_r:systemd_userdbd_t:s0 key=(null) type=CWD msg=audit(1788983399.531:352): cwd=/ type=PATH msg=audit(1788983399.531:352): item=0 name=/proc/self/fd/8 inode=4075 dev=00:1f mode=0140666 ouid=0 ogid=0 rdev=00:00 obj=system_u:object_r:xdm_var_run_t:s0 nametype=NORMAL cap_fp=0 cap_fi=0 cap_fe=0 cap_fver=0 cap_frootid=0 Hash: systemd-userwor,systemd_userdbd_t,xdm_var_run_t,sock_file,read Version-Release number of selected component: selinux-policy-targeted-45.15-2.fc46.noarch Additional info: reporter: libreport-2.17.15 reason: SELinux is preventing /usr/lib/systemd/systemd-userwork from 'read' accesses on the sock_file /proc/self/fd/8. package: selinux-policy-targeted-45.15-2.fc46.noarch component: selinux-policy hashmarkername: setroubleshoot type: libreport kernel: 7.3.0-rc2-893e11787f78-with-fixes-v1+ component: selinux-policy
