A flaw was found in the Linux kernel. The `sar_probe()` function, specifically in its error handling paths, fails to free memory allocated for `device_mode_info` by the `parse_package()` function, which is called by `sar_get_data()`. This oversight leads to a memory leak. Repeated occurrences of this flaw could exhaust system memory, potentially resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS) for the affected system.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-09-11 22:40:35 UTC
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

platform/x86: int1092: Fix potential memory leak in sar_probe()

The memory allocated for device_mode_info in parse_package() called by
sar_get_data() is not freed in some of the error paths in sar_probe().
Fix that by converting to use device managed allocations.
