Doc Text:
A flaw was found in sngrep. This vulnerability involves stack buffer overflows in the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) attribute formatting routines. A remote attacker can exploit this by crafting malicious SIP packets with oversized header values, such as Call-ID or X-Call-ID, which exceed the 255-byte buffer limit. This can lead to buffer overflows, potentially causing the application to crash or allowing for arbitrary code execution.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-09-12 18:11:28 UTC
sngrep through 1.8.4 contains stack buffer overflow vulnerabilities in SIP attribute formatting routines when header values exceed the 255-byte buffer limit. Attackers can craft malicious SIP packets with oversized Call-ID, X-Call-ID, or other header fields to overflow stack buffers and cause crashes or execute arbitrary code during packet parsing and rendering.
