Description Daniel Hauck 2007-08-18 12:23:17 UTC
Description of problem:
Gnotravex seems to be defaulting to using a font that does not support Kanji
character display. The problem does not change when changing system fonts. The
problem does not exist in Ubuntu's distribution of the same package.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Gnotravex v2.18.2.1

How reproducible:
Every time in F7 and also in F8t1

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch OS in Japanese language mode
2. launch Tetravex from the games menu
3.

Actual results:
Kanji characters on game pieces display as rectangles instead of Kanji characters.

Expected results:
Kanji numbers should appear on game peices.

Additional info:
I have asked Takeshi Aihana about this problem and he could not reproduce it.
He runs Ubuntu, however so it seems the problem may be limited to the Fedora
distribution.

I can't reproduce with current fedora.

What fonts do you have installed?

Comment 3 Andreas Røsdal 2007-08-30 18:37:26 UTC
Please report this upstream to http://bugzilla.gnome.org

Comment 4 Jens Petersen 2007-08-30 23:12:59 UTC
Closing this - please reopen if you still see a problem

Comment 5 Daniel Hauck 2007-08-31 03:01:43 UTC
I have all default Japanese fonts with Fedora 7. This problem does not exist in
Tetravex from previous versions. I replaced the binary from an earlier version
(2.16.0) and the problem doesn't appear and Kanji appears as normal.

Comment 6 Jens Petersen 2007-08-31 05:19:38 UTC
Hmm, I don't see the problem with gnome-games-2.18.2.1-3.fc7.x86_64 FWIW,
nor under rawhide i386.
