A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's mtk-mdp3 media driver. A missing sanity check when looking up the System Control Processor (SCP) can lead to a NULL pointer dereference. This vulnerability could allow a local attacker to cause a system crash, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS).

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-09-16 11:52:20 UTC
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

media: platform: mtk-mdp3: fix NULL deref on failed SCP lookup

Add the missing sanity check after looking up the SCP to avoid
dereferencing a NULL-pointer in case its driver has not yet been bound.
