A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's `media: qcom: iris` driver. This vulnerability occurs when the `iris_core_deinit()` function fails to properly handle a runtime Power Management (PM) resume failure. An attacker could potentially exploit this by triggering a scenario where the `pm_runtime_resume_and_get()` function fails, leading to unbalanced runtime PM references and skipped hardware power-off operations. This could result in resource exhaustion or system instability, potentially causing a Denial of Service (DoS).

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-09-17 17:33:35 UTC
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

media: qcom: iris: handle runtime PM resume failure in core deinit

Check the return value of pm_runtime_resume_and_get() in
iris_core_deinit().

If runtime PM resume fails, skip hardware power-off operations but
still perform software teardown and state transition. Also skip the
corresponding pm_runtime_put_sync() call to avoid unbalanced runtime
PM references.
