With only 6 hours of monitoring, clock-applet is increasing in size on both machines at just under 1 MB per hour. Chris, you've seen this before too yea? I'm going to run the clock-applet under valgrind today and see what shows up. Paul, do you keep any appointments or tasks in evolution (that show up when you click the clock applet) ? Evolution is not installed. Never used it. Removed it less than a week ago
when spamassassin had a dependency problem (erasing spamassassin erased
evolution). This problem predates this event.
When after I clicked on the date, and then click it again to close the calendar,
the size nearly doubled.

The line with the drop in RES is when the system was coming out of hibernation.
