A flaw was found in the `pinctrl: airoha` component of the Linux kernel. Without properly handling IRQ (Interrupt Request) resource helpers, the `gpiolib` (General Purpose Input/Output library) fails to set a flag indicating an IRQ pin is in use. This oversight can allow an unprivileged user or another driver to reconfigure an active IRQ pin, potentially leading to unexpected system behavior or a denial of service.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-09-17 19:35:05 UTC
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

pinctrl: airoha: add missed IRQ resource helpers

Without hooking .irq_request_resources, gpiolib cannot set
GPIOD_FLAG_USED_AS_IRQ. This breaks pin direction locking and can allow
userspace or another driver to reconfigure an active IRQ pin as an output
