A flaw was found in Apache Neethi. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted WS-Policy document containing deeply nested policy elements. This crafted document can bypass the parser's nesting-depth limit, leading to uncontrolled recursion that exhausts the thread stack. Successful exploitation results in a denial of service, causing the parser to crash.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-09-22 18:34:28 UTC
A specially crafted WS-Policy document with deeply nested policy elements can bypass Neethi's nesting-depth limit and exhaust the thread stack, crashing the parser (denial of service).
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 3.2.4, which fixes this issue.
