Doc Text:
A flaw was found in DCMTK. This heap over-read vulnerability exists in the ConcatenationLoader component, where it copies pixel data frames without properly validating the buffer length against the declared number of frames. A remote attacker could exploit this by crafting malicious Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) instances. This could lead to an application crash, resulting in a denial of service, or potentially leak sensitive information from adjacent memory.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-09-24 14:05:24 UTC
DCMTK through 3.7.0 contains a heap over-read vulnerability in ConcatenationLoader that copies pixel data frames without validating the PixelData buffer length against the declared NumberOfFrames. Attackers can craft malicious DICOM instances declaring more frames than the buffer contains to trigger heap over-reads that crash the application or leak adjacent heap memory.
