A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's ACPICA (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface Component Architecture) subsystem. An integer overflow occurs when calculating string or buffer truncation lengths during ACPI operation processing. A local attacker could exploit this vulnerability to trigger an invalid size calculation in memory copy routines, resulting in out-of-bounds memory access, a kernel crash, and a Denial of Service (DoS).

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-09-24 16:41:17 UTC
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

ACPICA: Fix integer overflow in acpi_ex_opcode_3A_1T_1R() (mid_op)

Add overflow check for Index + Length to prevent integer overflow
when calculating the truncation length. This prevents negative
size parameter being passed to memcpy().
