A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's AMD GPU driver (amdkfd). The queue allocation mechanism failed to validate user-supplied SDMA (System Direct Memory Access) queue identifiers during queue restoration. A local user could exploit this vulnerability to trigger an out-of-bounds memory access, potentially causing a system crash and leading to a denial of service.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-09-24 16:48:41 UTC
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

drm/amdkfd: Check bounds for allocate_sdma_queue restore_sdma_id

allocate_sdma_queue has an option where the sdma queue id can be
specified (used by CRIU). We weren't bounds-checking that
value.

Confirm it's less than the maximum number of queues.
